Follow These Tips To Take Proper Care Of Your Combination Skin Type

Using good skincare can really support reaching the healthy and glowing skin goal. When it comes to skincare, you need to be really careful of choosing products to apply and wear. One of the best ways to meet the right products is to look for the ones that suit your skin type. It’s quite a simple tip but it is useful. Let’s take dry skin as an example. If you have dry skin but you randomly wear an oil-free cleanser then you are indirectly damaging your skin. Your skin will be so tight and get irritated and red. That’s why knowing skin types is really important.

There are actually five types of skin. Normal skin is the first type where you have neither too dry nor too oily skin. It’s the type of radiant complexion with no severe sensitivity. There is no special treatment needed for this type of skin. The second type is oily skin where you have a dull or shiny complexion and enlarged pores. Dry skin, the third one, is the type of skin that has a dull and rough complexion and less elastic skin with almost visible pores. The fourth is sensitive skin where the skin easily gets redness, itching, burning, and dryness. The last one is combination skin.

What is combination skin?

If you experience dryness in some areas and excess oil in other areas, you have combination skin. Combination skin is where you can have both dry and oily skin. It’s quite challenging because you have to deal with the oily T-zone areas (forehead, nose, chin) along with normal or dry on the cheeks and jawline. Thus, you can have symptoms like enlarged pores, blackheads, and shiny skin.

The main factor to cause you to have combination skin is genetic. However, certain products and lifestyles can also lead you to this type of skin. For example, using harsh soap with dry ingredients will make you have more excess oil. The result is there will be breakouts in the t-zone area and dryness on the cheeks.
